About the Author David Hamilton was born in London in 1933 and lives near St. Tropez, France. After his study of architecture and design he turned to typography and layout. While he was an art director of the English magazine Queen, he bought his first camera. Later settling in Paris as art director of Printemps he began devoting himself exclusively to photography. Reviews

I'm a bit of a fan of David Hamilton and own several of his photo books. I'm not sure that this beautiful city is well served by his romantic style. Venezia is a collection of landscapes, some broad vistas, and blurring and muting the colors of these images does not do them justice. It doesn't create a mood; it just hides the view. These are scenes that require sharp focus and intense color to capture such things as daylight on the Mediterranean. I'm disappointed.
